Getting closer

We are almost there!!!!  This past week we have have several things go forward.  The kitchen cabinets and the counter top is now all in, looks awsome.  The flooring in the kitchen was some what of a trial but after two weeks of work they are looking great.  The trim work on the second floor is done, stair railing is in, painting upstairs is also very close to being done just a little touch up. The lights are all in and working.  We are waiting on the trim work on the first floor to be finished, should be some time this weekend and then the hard woods will go down.  We will then have painting and some stain work to be done.  It is looking like we should be done 1st week in Jan.  We are slowly moving things to the basement which is nice not to have to do it all at once.  We will be listing our home with a realtor this week and hope to have it sold by end of January but we will see.

Painting started but had to stop due to weather.  I am not sure I like the color so we will give it some time and wait till spring to finish.

Porch beams will be stained a red mahogany in spring, front step will be added and a walk way to curb

Kitchen flooring going down.  Slate will be a blue green when sealed.  We will have a band of smaller stone running as a boarder around the larger stone.  Should be done next week.

Master bedroom painted. trim around windows to comes next then the carpet.

Hallway btw bedrooms and bathroom.  we have a small sitting area that looks out to the hills we call it Mt Sentinel, great view from room.

Kitchen windows, sink will be below so we can look out to side yard.

Back porch with small patio off to right side.  Porch will go in soon but the rest will wait till spring.

The flooring is this week, cabinets  week after Thanksgiving, counter tops, lights, pluming first week in Dec.  Looking to move in last week of dec, we are crossing our fingers we will be in for Christmas.

Getting closer

Sorry we have not added more pictures till now.  Most of the work has not been too exciting.  They have the inside all sheet rock and are working on the mudding today.  The  siding is just about done and the painters have already started to prep.  Picking out our colors have been challenging and we think we are set on the body being yellow trim being an olive green and a little bit of burgundy as a accent color.  They tell us we should be in by Christmas.  The sale of our home is in the works we are just waiting on a few final things from buyer.

*** Internals ****

A lot of work has been going on inside.  They have been able to get the living room framed in and it was weird to see it in it's new form.  Most of the plumbing is in, heating is done, and the electrical should be finished and ready for inspection on Monday.  Once inspections are done on Monday they can start on insulation and then the drywall.  Our cabinets have been ordered and will be in mid Nov. (not moving in end of Oct - surprise).  Once drywall is up we get to work.  We are going to do some painting and tile work. (any experts want to help we pay well in dinners).  We will have hardwoods down stiars, and carpet up.  I have been trying to get hardwood to go up the stairs but boy is it expensive.  So things are moving along. I am looking forward for the siding to go on.  We still do not have colors picked out - any thoughts?

Walls, Roof ,Windows and Stairs !!!!!

The past week has been great.  The rest of the house was framed in and the exterior walls were enclosed.  Rooms were framed in and the windows were placed.  Stairs to get to the second floor were added so now we do not have to go up via ladder (HEY).  All is looking good.  Still have the floor and roof of garage to get done.  In the next week they should have the heating and plumbing in then comes the electrical.  All is well.

Not sure what week we are at.

Framing is going on everyday and they think they will have it all framed and sheeted in by early next week.  Then the heating and plumbing goes in.  We spent last Saturday shopping for appliances.  Boy Lowe's is crazy on Labor day.  We have a list of things that need to be decided on, so if any of these items you know about please let us know about.  Flooring, Doors, Tile, Trim, Counter tops, Cabinets, Paint (in and out), Insulation, Water heaters, Furnace,  Carpet and selling a home.  So any help would be GREAT!!!!!

Framing for bedrooms on second floor

over the past two weeks we have had the first floor, the porch, and the start to the second floor framing done.  I was excited to see the first floor go up but now that the porch is on and the second floor is taking shape I  am really excited to see the progress.  Maybe we will be in by end of October.
